Elisa Friman is a ceramic artist who makes unique functional ceramic objects and ceramic art. The techniques she mainly uses are hand-building and slip casting and the materials she works with are stoneware and porcelain clay, slip clay and recycled ceramics. While working, she lets the materials and her subconscious lead her. Elisa’s work is to great extent about intuition, playful colours and shapes, layers, and contrast. In addition, abstract and textured surfaces as well as form compositions are important parts of her work. Elisa’s ceramic pieces depict mindscapes, memories, and observations.

Elisa takes inspiration for her craft from nature, music, silence, and life experiences. She aims to implement environmental values in her work process. For her, using recycled ceramics as part of her work is intriguing. Beauty is found in imperfections.
